Walking?

Parson is about 1 week shy of 1 year old and we are so close to walking its not even funny. Today he took a few steps on his own and then like a fish belly flopped onto the carpet. My Mommy self of course went to jump to his aid...but before I could get there he continued to crawl to his original destination...his Daddy :)

This video is from a few weeks ago...I must get a more recent one for you soon.

Mommy's little un-helper

I walked into the jack and jill bathroom that is attached to Parsons room to start his nightly bath...I am gone for 30 seconds...and I know things are too silent...I walk back into his room and find this...

Parson every so graciously taking all of his clean folded laundry OUT of the laundry basket...what a great little helper :)

Leap of Faith

Deuteronomy 7:9
Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.

I keep repeating this verse to myself over and over and over again. My desire to a Doula has not left my mind for quite sometime. After praying and praying and asking God for guidance. I am in the process of becoming certified. I am jumping in with both feet, with my eyes closed, shouting "Lord you are my God, You are faithful, You will provide as promised, You have a plan for me, I trust you!"

I trust that God will provide a job for Aaron that provides health benefits, I trust that God will provide three expectant Moms that I can offer support to for my certification, I trust in His plan.

I trust Him....

Its been one of those weeks...

It has been one of those weeks at work for me...and of course my desire to not be working for pay and to be at home with Parson does not help matters. Then I kept thinking well there is no point in crying over spilled milk and I need to be thankful for what I have. Then later that same day I found this on Pinterest...

Happy Wednesday!

Nearly 1 Year!

Yikes that right ladys and gents...my little baby boy will be 1 in less than a month. You heard me 1 YEAR OLD! Holy molie! Where in the heck did that time go?!

I am  not going to lie it does break my heart just a little each time I think to hard about it. I remember thinking "I cant wait till he can eat solids", "I cant wait till he can sit up", "I cant wait for..." now I long to hold that snugly little newborn who was so warm and dependable solely on me for everything.

Then I catch a glimpse of my wiggly, all over the place soon to be toddler and I cherish every moment that I have with him. Embrace every sloppy open mouth kiss, laugh at every bit of thrown food and sippy cups, and smile at each little wobbly beginning step that is taken.

I don't care what anyone says, no matter the size and age of Parson he will always and forever be my sweet little baby newborn boy.

Parson, Mommy and Daddy love you more than you will ever know.

Homemade Laundry Soap

Many of you have been asking if I ever made my own laundry soap after I had a Facebook conversation with lots of women about recipes, tips, and where to find thinks like Fel-S-Naptha soap. I did make the soap and boy are we happy with it! I think I invested $20 in all the supplies and I will get at least three tubs (2gallon) of laundry detergent out of it! So already I have saved dollars!

Was it easy? YES! I think start to finish clean up and all it took a total of 25min. The hardest part was grating the fel-s-naptha soap (I think its easier if you yous the citrus grater) on our cheese grater...which is plastic :s  But after I...er...Aaron got it grated I was good to go.

I got the recipie from Liz at A Part Of The Whole

It works wonderful on all of our clothes, including Parsons. It is gentle enough on his super sensitive skin.  I am not using it on his cloth diapers, I am still using Rockin Green detergent for those.

Do I recommend this? YES, it was super easy and saves a dollar which is fantastic in my book.

Happy laundry soap making.
